A new door system technology (dead bolt lock) developed by
Phil Dumas CEO of Unikey has the ability to connect to your iPhone. If the
owner wants to open a door all they need to do is tap on the dead bolt. By
tapping the dead bolt it sends Bluetooth signal to the iPhone nearby. The phone
sends back another signal to unlock the door. The dead bolt has a blue ring
which illuminates when the dead bolt unlocks. The dead bolt is designed to
resemble and actual lock and even has a keyhole. The dead bolt is powered by
four AA batteries which run for approximately a year before changing. In case
the owner’s phone is lost or stolen the key program can be deactivated
remotely. The owner can also send spare keys (Virtual) to other users the keys
may last for a set of period of time and the system logs use of the key and
informs the owner.
