Apple iPhone 5C upgrade to iOS 8

The iPhone 5C runs on iOS 7 but can be upgraded to iOS 7.1.1. or you can just wait for iOS 8 unveiling in June 2014.
How to perform the upgrade:
Step 1: backup your phone
Step 2: Download the iOS 7 or 8* when it goes live from iTunes
Step 3: Connect your iPhone to your PC USB-launch iTunes-Check for updates-dialog box "new version available" click Download.
Step 4: Don't interrupt the process!!
