Best places to work in China

A survey by Zhaopin.com, Peking University and Employer Brand communication Research center offers us a list of the best employers in China.

Over 2,132 employers were involved from 93 cities in China. A result of the top 100 employers was arrived at but this was to be refined to 30 top rated employers. 41 of the fortune 500 companies made it to top 100 and this was attributed to their better pay packages, size of the entity and international influence/ image.

This article is targeted to both employers for benchmarking, employees to know where they are at and prospects to know their options in the job market. Below is the list of the best places to work in China 

• Schaeffler Holding-China, The company develops and manufactures precision products for all mobile vehicles/ machines has several bases in China including Anting, Taicang, Suzhou, Shanghai, Zhengzhou, Hong Kong among others. It is home to approximately 8000 employees and was recently awarded for being the best employer in China top 100 employer awards and has held the position for 3 years since 2011.
• A.O. Smith, This boilers, tanks and water heater manufacturer located in Nanjing China and 24 other locations worldwide including North America is considered among the best employers in China. 
• Dalian Wanda Group, is a conglomerate with interests in entertainment, real estate, hotel and tourism. It has its headquarters in Dalian, Northeast China.
• Canon Asia, This imaging manufacturer has several branches in China among the 10 countries it operates from in Asia. Locations include; Dalian, Guang-Dong and Suzhou
• Fast Retailing China, UNIQLO is a casual brand clothing retailer located in Shanghai, China with 225 stores in the country. 
• Cisco Systems China, This networking and technology solutions company that has its roots in America also has operations in China and among its biggest clients in the country include the Chinese government.
• Dianping.com, China's version of Yelp is a review site and is located in Shanghai. According to is website Dianping  had over 30 million reviews in over 2,300 cities and has collected data on more than 8 million businesses in China. The company makes it to our listing as among the best employers in China.
• Oracle China, The company designs Linux operating system software and is located in Beijing. It was formerly known as Beijing Oracle Software System Co., but changed it name to Oracle China in 2008 is also reputed to be among the best places to work in China.
• Shneider Electric, This company offers energy management solutions for both home and commercial purposes. It is located in Beijing and is among the top rated places to be employed in China.
• Mondelez China (Yi Zi), Is a leading company in snacks including beverages, confectionery and biscuits. It holds the following brands Oreo, Ritz, Halls and Tang among others. It has its headquarters in Shanghai and is home to over 6,000 employees.
