The online giant Yahoo has once again made a move on an
email & address book management application Xobni. This comes in the wake
of Yahoo’s wave of acquisitions of start-ups and applications such as
Bignoggins a mobile app working with fantasy sports, Tumblr popular among the
youth acquired after a staggering 1.1 billion US dollars, Qwiki a mini-movie
clip making app and many others. It is said that Yahoo has made over a dozen
acquisitions in the last one year and this comes after the appointment of
Melissa Mayer as the new CEO at Yahoo. It is estimated that the deal in the
Xobni deal could have a price tag of between 30-70 million US dollars. Like
most of yahoo’s acquisitions the CEO at Xobni Jeff Bonforte remains in control
and will be bringing with him 31 of his employees to continue with integration
and development of Xobni.
